Myself as Edward "Blackbeard" Thatch vs my husband Thomas Anderson as Francisco Pereira Freire de La Cerda of the Spanish. Blackbeard the attacker who had to capture the escort. QAR, the Revenge and Brig vs a 5th rate with extra guns and crew escorting. Petite Frigate with extra guns and crew.

Turn 1. Francisco has the initiative. Thatch sailing large and in formation closes in as the Francis sails across his port to the wind.
Turn 2. Francisco seeing sails continues to sail port to wind as Thatch closes in and fires a shot across the Spanish flagship doing nothing. Stede in the rear
Turn 3. Francisco now knows something is up and starts to prepare to engage his escort following close. Thatch and the Brig both fire shots across the bow and Francis is still un-phased, as Stede in the Revenge turns starboard to swing around the shoals.
Turn 4. Francisco makes adjustment in his heading to try and get to Thatch but cannot as the Brig makes a blunder and heads to cut off the Spanish 5th rate and bears an island, as Thatch and the Brig both open up doing no damage again, the Spanish return fire but only do minimal damage to the Brig as Stede tries to come around the shoals to get to the rear.
Turn 5. The Spanish continue to maneuver, the Brig should have hit the island but we failed a rules check and it misses by a Yar done when it should not, but is in full broadsides of Francis's flag ship. Stede still trying to slip around the shoals. As the Spanish unleash a rolling broadsides that cripples the Pyrate Brig. Thatch opens up on Francisco's flag ship still not doing much damage but the Spanish panic seeing Blackbeard and each takes fatigue.
Turn 6. Francisco turns to take on QAR and fires not doing much damage. Blackbeard seeing no chance raises sails to escape heading to put land between him and the heavily gunned 5th rate as Stede swings around the shoals to engage from the rear, a little late. Francisco's flag ship once again fires partial at the Brig reducing the ship to almost nothing.
Turn 7. the Pyrate Brig tries to entangle the Frigate but fails as Thatch swings around the island but still in range of Francis's 5th rates guns. Stede gives full sail, sailing large and closes with the Spanish objective. The frig does partial fire ripping into the Revenge as Stedes crew once again has visions of being slaughtered like his failed attack on another Spanish Warship. Francisco fires on Thatch doing minor damage. The Brig sinks.
Turn 8. The Spanish disengage, as Thatch is now behind the island, as Stede hightails it out of the fight
Spanish win the day at the end of 8 turns
