Pierre Le Moyne d’Iberville calls for more sail and pushes the French Vessel forward with all haste to get away from the Hampshire's guns, but is unsuccessful as the English gunners fire a rolling broadside and peppered Le Pelican's stern. A second rolling broadside of cannonfire from the Derring inflicted some rigging damage. The French answer and smash the Derring and damage it's rigging as well.
